It is unjustly considered that to make and eat pancakes is traditionally Russian invention! It is appeared that the best masters in this art are the French. "Crepes" is a word for those French pancakes, which are so thin that it is almost impossible to flip them. It is a real art to make such crepes.Everything took its beginning in far Bretagne. A Madam de Chine while waiting for her children to the evening tea was making some cookies. She made something wrone with the dough and got some lacy pancakes-crepes. She had to urgently invent some stuffing for them and a sauce. Children were happy about new dish from their mommy! Since than small outlets called each creperie became fashionable in France. There they still make crepes by the ancient recipe of Madam de Chine. The creperie is a place where the gourmets enjoy crepes!
